The Cavan Kayak Run 2012

This Saturday Cootehill will host the Cavan kayak run 2012.

The Multi-sport Challenge Event involves Running, Kayaking and Biking and is taking place at Gallonray House, Maudabawn, Cootehill, Co. Cavan on Saturday 11th August at 1pm.

This unique fun event starts with a 5k run/walk, followed by a 1k kayak race and finishing with a 15k cycle. The emphasis is on FUN, so whether you are an experienced athlete looking for a serious challenge or a total beginner looking for a bit of ‘craic’ then you will not want to miss this event.

The race is open to individuals or if you feel all three events may be too much… why not enter a relay team of three to share the load?

The Cavan Kayakarun Challenge XL

This year we are adding a new, more challenging route for the Elite athletes. The new Elite route starts with the 5k run, followed by a 2k kayak, and concluding with a 49k cycle, which will cross a few of the hardest climbs in east Cavan. More details about entries, and starting times will follow very soon.

The Cavan Kayakarun is a local community event, and with the generous help of local people, we can guarantee a well marshalled and a safe passage for all the competitors. Alongside that there is a great social attraction with music in Gallonray House, on the Friday and also on the Saturday night after the event. The music is usually a mix of traditional and regular. There is a buffet meal for purchase after the event. Also complimentary teas/coffee and treats for all entrants.

So come to Co Cavan on August 11th and make it a weekend to remember for all the family.
