Over €470,000 Approved To Upgrade Facitilites

The large sum of money is being used to upgrade cycling and walking facilities in Monaghan.

The money will be used for a 4 kilometre route along the tow path of the Ulster Canal – this forms part of a greater plan with further potential for routes linking to Armagh and Cavan.

Fine Gael Deputy Heather Humphreys says these improvements will have positive effects on the transport network in Monaghan and encourage a healthier lifestyle through walking and cycling.

A number of jobs will also be created during the construction stage.
