38th Anniversary Of Monaghan & Dublin Bombings

It’s the 38th anniversary of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings.

33 people died when car bombs exploded in 1974 – 7 of the fatalities were in Monaghan.It remains the greatest loss of life in a single day throughout the Troubles.

A wreath was laid at the site of one of the bombs in front of the courthouse in Monaghan town at 9 o’clock this morning.

Local TD Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin is calling for a full cross border inquiry to establish what happened on this day in 1974.
