Following the release of the novel, ‘Polly of Bridgewater Farm’ by Catharine Fleming McKenty, John Griffin was inspired by the true life story. The story was set during the Irish Famine, and is about a young girl Polly and her family from County Tyrone. It tells of their life during the Famine and their departure to Canada to start a new life. It is a story of hope during tragic times.
Scott Griffin plays the instrumental version of the song and is a tribute to Polly, her family and all the other families that suffered during the Irish Famine.
